There are a few sections below separated by style/approach:
1) Painterly and color realism tattoos. These are styles inspired by real life paintings, or images of flowers or other objects.
2) Neotraditional tattoos. These are designs I have drawn either as flash, custom pieces, or reworks of other artists' work.
3) Tattoos in other styles. While I specialize in color, I am also capable of doing fineline, black and grey realism, and more as the fundamentals translate well!
4) Reworks and coverups. These are designs that were done on top of other designs that were not tattooed by me originally.
Enjoy!
Styles pictured below include: black and grey, ornamental, and fineline. The compilations are tattoos from walk ins and Friday the 13th events!
Colors were added to the lightsabers upon request.
We were limited in the amount of face details we could get because of the size, but we managed to suggest the general forms!
A specific color scheme and style was requested.
This project was a phoenix themed sleeve, not originally done by me.
The original piece had mostly reds and yellows with little to no orange in the transitions, and a lot of the color had faded severely. Overall, it was not giving the fiery read that we were looking for. We worked on bringing back the colors while adding some depth and clarity, as well as plenty of oranges to get that fiery hot feel!
We also added some extra "tails" to the fire to give it a more complete look.
We left the black and grey areas untouched, and also added a bit more of a fade on the transition between the upper arm and the lower arm.
The elbow was also left untouched as the color had not faded as severely in that area.
Before (already was a coverup originally).
Rework of old names. Rose was asked to be a little bit more realistic, although we were limited by the size (only about 0.5" for the whole bloom). If this was fresh, I would usually recommend a minimum of 3" for complex blooms like roses if realism is desired.
In terms of changing the anatomy, we were somewhat limited by the original, as black can only be covered with more black. but we used extra area on the watery effects to thin out the animal, as the width of the ribcage and lack of separation with the thigh were some of our biggest issues.
This tattoo was previously done in black and grey, and the client wanted to add some fire tones for color!
If you think you might be interested in adding any of these to your collection, or in creating a custom design in a similar style, please feel free to fill out a booking form or see available flash on my Venue.ink page. You can also request a consultation for a larger piece, or just to get some questions answered!
I look forward to hearing all about your ideas, because my clients always have the coolest ones. ;)
